Travel the world-renowned New River Train excursions
through the beautiful New River Gorge in southern West
Virginia. As one of the newest national parklands, the
“Grand Canyon of the East” along the New River is aglow in
fall colors!

1. Home to Bloomington
Travel to Bloomington for an overnight stay.
Lunch is served at Burnstad’s Cafe today before
we arrive at the hotel. Enjoy an evening
at your leisure tonight.

2. Bloomington to Marietta
Today we make our way through Illinois
and Indiana into Ohio. Beautiful fall foliage
beings to unfold as we approach West
Virginia. Sit back and take in the spectacular
fall foliage of the Ohio River Valley as we
travel to the river town of Marietta, located
at the confluence of the Muskingum and
Ohio rivers.

3. Marietta to Huntingon
We cross the Ohio River into West Virginia
to visit the Fenton Art Glass Company
located in Williamstown. We continue to
Parkersburg to enjoy a sumptuous lunch at
the renowned Harmans Restaurant located
in the historic Blennerhassett Hotel. We depart
Parkersburg aboard an authentic sternwheeler,
plying the waters of the Ohio to
enjoy a guided tour of Blennerhassett Island.
The tranquil island features a beautifully
reconstructed 18th-century mansion and
horse-drawn wagon rides. Our destination
tonight will be Huntington, West Virginia.

4. Huntingon
Today we enjoy one of the most breathtaking
autumn color rail journeys in the world.
The New River Train is an annual autumn
excursion aboard a rolling museum of classic
restored passenger railroad cars. Our
train will travel through the famous Grand
Canyon of the East, the 65-mile long New
River Gorge in all its fall splendor, where
the sole vestiges of civilization are the old
C & O railway track, the New River Bridge
and the whitewater rafters on the river. At
Hinton, we’ll enjoy the annual fall festival
in this scenic mountain town. We’ll have
lunch on our own and browse the arts and
crafts street fair. Enjoy a Pullman Square
dinner aboard the train as we wind our way
through spectacular fall foliage!Return to
Huntington for another evening.

5. Huntingon to Cincinnati
After breakfast we make our way to exciting
Cincinnati. A local guide will share the
history and highlights of the Cincinnati area.
We will see where they filmed such movies
as Rain Man, Little Man Tate, Down and Out
in Yonkers, and A Rage in Harlem. A few of
the more interesting sights include a visit to
Fabulous Furs; the Cathedral Basilica of the
Assumption, a scaled-down replica of Notre
Dame, in Paris; and Historic Laurel Court,
designed by James Gamble Rogers and built
for Peter Thomson, the founder of Champion
Paper. Return to the hotel to freshen up or
take in some local sights before departing
for our farewell dinner. Cruise under the
stars on the Ohio River and dine on a feast
fit for an Admiral on the BB Riverboat.

6. Cincinnati to Rockford
Rise and Shine! Have a hearty breakfast before
heading north to Rockford. This evening
join us for an outstanding farewell dinner
with your traveling friends and family.

7. Rockford to Home
Travel home today with coffee stops and
lunch along the way.
