Washington D.C. and New York City

Tour monuments and memorials, cruise to the Statue of Liberty
and Ellis Island, see a top Broadway show, enjoy a dinner

Day 1 - Home to Chicago
Today is a day of getting to know our fellow passengers as we travel to our first overnight stay in Chicago.  We’ll enjoy beautiful fall color as we drive through Wisconsin.

Day 2 - Chicago to London
Travel to London, Ontario with coffee breaks and lunch along the way.  Lodging this evening will be at a lovely inn in London.

Day 3 - London to Niagara Falls
We make our way to Niagara Falls, a thundering natural wonder that draws millions of visitors each year from around the world.  Drive scenic Niagara Parkway where you will see lovely scenery including the Floral Clock.  Dine this evening atop the Skylon Tower as we enjoy a breathtaking view of Niagara Falls!

Day 4 - Niagara Falls to NYC
We’ll pass through the beautiful landscapes of New York State and arrive in the Big Apple one of America’s most exciting cities.  We’ll check into our lovely hotel before we’re  off to one of Broadway’s top shows- reserved seats!

Day 5 - New York City
Take a colorful ferry boat ride to the famous Statue of Liberty, symbolizing American freedom to all.  Visit Ellis Island and discover, by exhibits, the 12 million people who came here looking for a better life.  View the film “Island of Hope, Island of Tears” before visiting the Great Hall.  A local step-on guide to show us the sights and sounds of the “Big Apple”, New York City!  See Time Square, Wall Street, the Garment District, Broadway, the Empire State Building, the Lincoln Center, Ground Zero, and other points of interest.  This evening is at your leisure to choose from one of the great restaurants of New York City.

Day 6 - NYC to Washington D.C.
Depart for Philadelphia, the home of the First and Second Continental Congresses and the first Capital of the U.S.  See Independence Hall, the site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the home of the Liberty Bell.  Arrive in Washington D.C. for a relaxing three night stay in our nation’s capital!

Day 7 - Washington D.C.
This morning we have a excellent step on guide as we tour Vietnam, Korean, The World War II Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial.  Learn about the Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, World War II Memorial, Washington Memorial, National Archives, and the restored Union Station.  Our guide interests us with facts and information as we view from our coach, Embassy Row, Kennedy Center, The Old Post Office, The Pentagon, Ford’s Theater and Peterson House, National Cathedral and Georgetown.  This evening experience Washington D.C. by night, as we embark on an elegant cruise on the Potomac River.

Day 8 - Washington D.C.
After breakfast, explore Arlington National Cemetery, and witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  Nearby, the Eternal Flame marks the gravesites of President John F. Kennedy, Jackie, and Robert Kennedy.  This afternoon visit the Smithsonian Institute, known as the “Nation’s Attic” where we will see our country’s treasures, from its priceless jewels to Archie Bunker’s chair!

Day 9 - Wash. D.C. to Gettysburg
Travel to Gettysburg, where we will tour the battlefield, experience the electric map presentation, and walk through the cemetery.  We will stand where Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address.  Tonight we have an included dinner at the famous Historic Dobbin House.  Our lodging this evening will be at the beautiful Gettysburg Hotel in One Lincoln Square.  This historic hotel was established in 1797 and is a unique sight to see and experience.  Enjoy a leisure time with lots to see and do.

Day 10 - Gettysburg to Youngstown
We bid goodbye and begin our journey home.  Enjoy the passing landscapes with the company of good friends before checking into our hotel for the evening.

Day 11 - Youngstown to Chicago
After breakfast we’re off to Chicago with lunch and coffee breaks along the way.  This evening, relax and enjoy the hotel

Day 12 - Chicago Area to Home
As we travel homeward, we will have opportunity to reminisce about our country’s past that has come alive to us the past few days, and enjoy the friends that we have made on this historic trip!
